About Gregory Phillips

Gregory’s love for acting began in high school—but it didn’t stop there. After two years of training at the New York Academy of Theatrical Arts, he was mentored by legendary actor Robert Earl Jones, who inspired him to deepen his commitment to the art. Gregory went on to earn a BA in Theatre from Bard College, performing in a range of classical and contemporary roles.

His path led him from the New York stage to Minnesota’s Penumbra Theatre, where he expanded his creativity into writing. He earned an MFA in Creative Writing, followed by a PhD in Composition and Rhetoric, teaching at the collegiate level for years.

But the call to act never left him. In 2015, Gregory made a bold move—leaving academia behind, packing up his car, and driving to Los Angeles to pursue his acting dream full-time.

Today, Gregory is a proud SAG member and a working actor with credits in film, television, theatre, and commercials. With a rich academic and artistic background, he brings nuance, discipline, and heart to every character he portrays.
